Elton John Bashes Today’s Pop Stars, Calls Them ‘Pretty Awful’

October 19, 2010

Song of the Day  :  Your Song – Elton John

Elton John takes time to put the pop stars of today in their place

Well we’re glad somebody finally stood up and said something. Elton John, famous the world over for crafting a number of great songs of our time (“Your Song”, “Tiny Dancer”, “Candle In The Wind”, “Circle Of Life”… oh yeah and “Bennie And The Jets”) recently told a British magazine:

“Songwriters today are pretty awful, which is why everything sounds the same. Contemporary pop isn’t very inspiring.”

Oh no he di’nt!

“Doc Ellis And The LSD No No” Welcomes The World

October 15, 2010

Song of the Day  :  Centerfield – Creedence Clearwater Revival

Really, is there anything better than baseball? America’s pastime has buried itself deep in our country’s psyche as early as the 1850’s, and it seems that the sport only gains momentum each and every year. Stats versus luck, city against city, home at away, 12 dollar beers or pregame it… everybody approaches the game differently. No matter what your tradition is, the sensations are all the same – against all odds, can we pull off the most important win of the season?

At least that’s how it feels when we’re sitting in the bookies office.

Doing some research, we stumbled across a very important game in the history of baseball: Doc Ellis, former Pittsburgh Pirate recollects of pitching his prestigious no-hitter… on LSD. Don’t believe us? Check out this video and learn what it really means to be a baseball great.

Insane Clown Posse Revealed! Evangelical Christians Through And Through

October 11, 2010

Song of the Day  :  Luck Be a Lady – Frank Sinatra

Insane Clown Posse proves to be sent from the heavens
We’re not used to dealing with the Juggalo type. You know, those nasty, destructive, freaky-clown-make-upy kids that hang out in abandoned skate parks. Still unsure what a Juggalo is? They’re the scum of the music scene, the harbingers of hate! Most importantly, Juggalos are fanatics of the seemingly satanic acid-rappers the Insane Clown Posse.

Surprisingly, the Insane Clown Posse just revealed through a new song that they are actually Evangelical Christians.

Um.

We could have sworn it was The Blues Brothers who said “We’re on a mission from God”, but we’ve been wrong before. Show us what we need to know, prophets!

ICP shows us that we’re the morons

October 8, 2010

Song of the Day  :  Peaches – The Presidents of the United States of America

Hope! The Obama Musical Story

How did we miss this… Ladies, Gentlemen, we need to apologize to you. This musical opened in January of this past year. TEN MONTHS AGO! How did we all miss this?

Yes, Hope! The Obama Musical Story is no joke. Don’t believe us? Check out the video we found. CNN flew all the way to Germany (and boy are their arms tired) so they could produce this three-minute piece. And if CNN did it, you know it’s the real deal. After all, CNN introduced us to Wolf Blitzer and he’s a real werewolf… is that right?

Try not to dance to this musical

Futuristic Musical Instruments Of The Future: The Eigenharp

October 4, 2010

Song of the Day : Neil Young – Heart of Gold

The Futurist Musical Instrument, The Eigenharp

Extra! Extra! Blow Hards Rock Out The Eigenharp!

Face it, robots. We are nothing but hard drives living in a digital age where yearbooks are replaced by Facebooks and boob tubes are replaced by YouTubes. Around us, everyday utilities are being converted to ones and zeros. What ever happened to the physical world? Is it too stimulating? Will computer screens be the only medium in which we view the world? Where do we draw the line drawn before technology converts us completely? Is there still hope for a collaboration of our perceived reality and our projected reality?

Man, we hope so. While technology is the culprit of our weekly nightmares, there are still a few things that prove our yearning for learning can end up creating some pretty fantastic inventions. Most impressive are the instruments of the future. Check out the new wave of guitar/flute/synthesizer combinations: The Eigenharp!
